Dental hygiene

Dental hygiene has become a symbol of healthy and beautiful teeth, and it should be an integral part of caring for your teeth. It's not just a cosmetic service, dental hygiene should be seen as an important healing and later preventative procedure, essential for everybody today. The success of modern dental practice is not just invisible white fillings or beautiful dentures mounted on abraded teeth. Much greater success is when no filling or denture is needed. The best health investment is to invest in prevention and this applies even more to teeth. Regular visits to a dental hygienist pay off without a question.

Visit dental hygiene

You can order dental hygiene at your own initiative or at the advice of your dentist. The session starts with a brief interview with the dental hygienist. He or she is particularly interested in how often you clean your teeth and what tools you use to do it. For your first visit to a dental hygienist it is therefore good to bring everything you use when cleaning your teeth. It can be just a toothbrush, but if you're using something else, you should bring it with you. The dental hygienist will assess whether your tools are in order and, if necessary, help you with choosing more appropriate ones.
After a brief interview, an examination begins, recording the initial state of your hygiene. That includes the index of gum bleeding, which in combination with the amount of dental plaque and tartar gives the dental hygienists a good idea about the necessary treatment.
This usually involves removing tartar using hand tools and ultrasound, ridding the teeth of all the pigment, and then shining the teeth for a radiant smile. The care can be supplemented by the application of a remineralizing agent, which makes the teeth more resistant to tooth decay. Everything can be done painlessly in local anesthesia, so you do not have to be afraid of the procedure.
After treatment, the practice of proper teeth cleaning is followed. The dental hygienist will recommend a cleaning technique for you to clean your teeth quickly and efficiently. Then he or she uses a special calibrated tool to measure interdental spaces and chooses the right type of interdental toothbrush for you. Of course, you will learn to use interdental brushes in the surgery, so that your everyday cleaning is as effective as possible.
Finally, your dental hygienist will invite you to return in three months, and if everything goes well, you can look forward to another visit in half a year.
