Orthodontics
You can decide for nice and straight smile at any age. Your successful personal and professional life.start with your beautiful smile.
The main reason why patients are lookin for orthodontist is improving of their smile. A nice smile is an important part of our appearance, which is important in communication with people. A person with a nice smile looks younger and acts more confidently. Straight teeth are also cleaned more easily, reducing the possibility of tooth decay. Another important reason for treatment is the improvement of the bite, because there are orthodontic defects that do not allow to bite properly. Some teeth may not work at all, so the chewing force is transmitted to the surrounding teeth, which are consequently overloaded and in danger of being damaged. In order to achieve a perfect result, it is necessary to collaborate with experts from other fields of dentistry, such as implantologist and experts of prosthetics (substitution of missing teeth), a practical dentist (remodeling of rudimentary teeth) or a dental surgeon (extraction of wisdom teeth, removal of impacted canines).

Phases of orthodontic treatment
1. Consultation
At the first visit is paient examined by orthodontist and possibilities of orthodontic treatment are offered to him. The patient then decides, if he want to undergo orthodontic treatment.
2. Establishment of a treatment plan
If the patient agree with orthodontic treatment, the necessary documentation and the exact treatment plan is made. Then we create 3D scan of teeth or impressions for plaster models, X-rays, and photographic documentation. Based on these examinations, we will determine the next procedure, including what type of device will be used and what will be cost of the treatment.
3. Active treatment
Fixed appliance (fixed braces)
This treatment phase usually takes about 2 years, but it always depends on the severity of the defect. We offer patients standard metal brackets or transparent ceramic ones. The choices for each patient are selected during the setting of the treatment plan. When using fixed orthodontic appliances, there should be effort to achieve perfect oral hygiene. After treatment with a fixed orthodontic appliance, the retention phase is followed, when the patient uses a removable device for the night.
Treatment with removable braces
Removable appliances are most commonly used in the treatment of patients whose primary teeth are being replaced for permanent ones, or as a retention device after end of treatment with fixed appliance.
4. Retention phase
The retention phase follows treatment with fixed braces. The aim is to stabilize the result achieved by orthodontic treatment. The teeth are held in a new position by a removable appliance and / or by a wire that is attached to the teeth from the back and is not visible (a fixed retainer). The appropriate type of retention device is always determined by the orthodontics.
